ALEXANDRIA YOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION

APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FOR YOUTH BASEBALL TEAMS

The Alexandria Youth Baseball Association (AYBA) will consider all requests for funding that meet the criteria outlined by the AYBA Board. 

All requests must be received by the AYBA Board prior to May 1st of the year for the request.  The decision of the AYBA Board is final.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

• Name, address, and phone number of contact person for the team making the request.
• Submission of names, addresses and phone numbers of all coaches of the team.
• Roster of all players, including addresses, parents/guardians’ names and school district and/or school that each player is enrolled in.
• Name of a personal reference for each coach.
• Authorization to conduct background checks on all coaches.
• Coaching philosophy in regards to playing time, winning/losing, sportsmanship, etc.
• Player selection process.
• Breakdown of team schedule, including practices, scrimmages and tournament play.
• Detailed description of the use of the funds requested.
• Detailed description of other funds acquired by the team (player fees, donations, etc.)
• Waiver of liability clause.

SELECTION PROCESS:

• Application and all requests materials received by May 1st of the year for the request.
• All players on the submitted roster must be enrolled within School District #206 and/or cooperative schools (Zion, St. Mary’s, home-school) for the upcoming school year.
• Approved background checks on all coaches.
• Coaching philosophy is consistent with the mission statement of AYBA.
• Team Schedule is reasonable; it is not deemed excessive or detrimental to the well-being of each player on the team.
• The request for funding positively affects player development.
• Consideration of prior financial support received by the requesting team from the AYBA Board.
• Other criteria as determined by the selection committee.

NOTIFICATION PROCESS:

• A member of the selection committee will notify the contact person prior to May 31st of the decision regarding the funding request.
• Funding requests may be denied, partially granted or fully granted.
• Additional information may be requested by the selection committee prior to a decision being made by the committee.
• For requests that are denied or partially funded, a reason for the decision will be given to the contact person.

The AYBA Board reserves the right to consider extenuating circumstances or unique situations that may alter the application process, selection criteria or notification process in order to accommodate these situations in the best interest of Alexandria Youth Baseball.
