AYBA is proud to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship in memory of Steven Taillefer. Steven died at age 15 on March 13, 2013, as a sophomore at Jefferson High School. He loved many sports, and was a talented athlete, but he especially loved the game of baseball.
AYBA awarded the first scholarship in the spring of 2013 in Steven’s name. The scholarship is based upon, "What life lessons have you learned while playing the game of baseball?" The 2013 scholarship was awarded to Grant Becker and the 2014 scholarship was awarded to Toby Helgeson.
AYBA accepts applications from Alexandria high school senior baseball players and is awarded on Honors Night. More information will be posted regarding the application process for 2015.
AYBA raises funds for this scholarship. If you are interested in donating directly to this scholarship fund, please contact AYBA Board Member, Mike Lucas. His information is listed under the “Board” tab on this website. The 2014 Steven Taillefer Memorial Scholarship was graciously sponsored by the following people / businesses in addition to AYBA:
